CONFERENCE: JOSEFA DE ÓBIDOS: PAINTER OF THE PORTUGUESE BAROQUE

This conference brings together leading international scholars to explore work of the Spanish-Portuguese artist Josefa de Óbidos from multiple perspectives: touching on artistic exchange in Iberia, female artists working during the seventeenth century and Portugal’s global material culture. The symposium also celebrates Carmen Ripollés’s book on Josefa – the first monograph on this important artist in English.
